Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop courses for SME's at Leeds City College


Leeds City College are running courses on Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop, all the courses are funded through the Response Project and  the usual eligibility rules apply - they can support SME’s based in the Leeds City Region, who have less than 250 employees and an annual turnover of less than £34 million. They can also work with both limited companies, registered charities and self-employed people. The course is delivered at Technology Campus.

Details on the courses are below:

Photoshop: 
This six week course is designed to give a practical introduction to Adobe Photoshop. It is aimed at people who need to edit photographs to a professional level for work or pleasure using the industry standard software.  The course will cover the Adobe Photoshop workspace and how to use it to get the most from your photographs. It will teach you basic to medium level skills in Adobe Photoshop and how to manage workflows efficiently. There is a brief outline of what of will be covered, but the course can be tailored to fit the needs of individual students.
COURSE CONTENT
1.       Photoshop Workspace
2.       Basic Editing
3.       File types, best use, converting, opening, saving
4.       Extended editing
5.     Printing & Portfolio’s
6.     Any other techniques

DATES
Starts on 16th September 2014.  6 – 9 pm.  6 week delivery.

Dreamweaver: 
This 8 week course gives you the necessary skills to develop and maintain a small, basic website using the latest version of Adobe Dreamweaver. This course would be ideal for professionals in the creative industry who need to update or expand their web design skills. It would also benefit students or people on a career break who need to create an online portfolio for themselves. Following the expert tuition you receive from our experienced tutors, you will complete a digital portfolio which demonstrates the techniques you have learned (this includes a completed website). The portfolio is submitted electronically to our web server. You will also complete a questionnaire to gauge your level of understanding of the terms and the workflows used during the course. All work must be submitted to a satisfactory standard to achieve a pass.

Introducing HTML, the WWW and the Dreamweaver user interface
Defining your site and managing files
Displaying content, formatting text and inserting images
Understanding hyperlinks and other interactive elements
Basic colour theory and simple image manipulation
Professional layout and design techniques
Testing and publishing your website with FTP

The Adobe Dreamweaver course starts on 16th September 2014 for 8 sessions. Evening class provision for 3 hours per week.
