Copyright in Music - Free Booklet Available

This booklet is a brief guide to UK copyright specifically aimed at those who intend to be involved in the music industry as writers, musicians or performers.

Why is copyright important?
Copyright enables those who have created a work, such as a song, or story, to be paid for their creativity. Others can only use copyrighted work with permission of the copyright owner. They are likely to charge for this permission. Copyright owners can control how their work is used - ie how it is copied, distributed, broadcast or performed. Copyright owners have both economic and moral rights. Anyone who uses a copyright work without permission can be guilty of infringement and action could be taken against them........................................................................
